Marie Antoinette Blog Entry #3

I wrote a letter to my mother on June 14, 1773 in Versailles. In the letter I wrote about the entrance me and my husband made into Paris. I told her how much I enjoyed, seeing how the people enjoyed seeing us apart from the poor people being overwhelmed by taxes. I wrote the letter to let her know how excited I was about that day and that I felt proud to be in that position and it was a day I would never forget. My letter is a good example of what goes on in the queen's presence and what the royal people may go through in the political life.

Marie Antoinette Blog Entry #2

The time period of which the French revolution took place was from 1784 -1799 and I was queen from 1772 - 1792. Around that time there were some other famous people to take note of including Napoleon, Jean Jacques, and Jacques Necker. There were some other places that were associated with England including France, Austria and Prussia. During this time the French Revolution was in play. It was for the transformation of the society and political systems of France. Apart from that, it is important to know that around this time was when france was turned from the King having complete power to a republic of what seemed to be free and equal citizens (this was temporary of course). The revolution ranks a one of the most important events in Europe. In these events, I was the unpopular one who helped discredit the monarchy in the period right before the revolution.

Hi my name is Marie Antoinette. I lived from 1755 - 1793 in France. I became the Queen of France when I married King Louis XVI in 1770 and he bacame king in 1774. I lived into the beginning of the French Revolution. I was known as the queen that made myself unpopular by my devotion to the interests of Austria. There was also a bad reputation of some of my friends and my extravagance. That was sometimes blamed for the financial problems the French government had, that part was a mistake thoough. It was also said that my unpoplarity helped discredit the monarchy right before the French Revolution.
